Full Color Viewing Mode - High quality color contrast allows for easy viewing of reading materials with photographs and text. Full Color Photo Mode - A medium contrast "Photo Mode" to view photographs, illustrations, or 3 dimensional objects in fine detail with minimal glare. Bright Negative Viewing Mode - White letters on a black background provides for maximum reading comfort concentrating the brightness of the text on a low-glare black background. Color Select Mode - The Atlas 710 offers 24 color combinations, including yellow letters on a blue background and green or amber letters on a black background.

When compared to a standard LCD monitor of the same diagonal measurement, the widescreen LCD monitors will present to the CCTV user an image that is slightly stretched horizontally. This can actually provide the low vision user a presentation of print that is easier to read since it will widen the spacing between words and broaden letters making the words more distinct. Note the difference to the right where the top image represents print on a standard 19" monitor screen and the bottom image represents the same print on a widescreen 19" monitor. Although the 19" and 22" monitors can be placed on top of the Atlas 710 (we would call this an "in-line" configuration), we recommend that the user consider placing the monitor to the right or left of the Atlas 710 in a "side-by-side" configuration. This would allow the screen to be at or slightly below eye level as opposed to an "in-line" configuration where the user may have to look up at the screen due to the additional height added by the monitor's pedestal.

Both monitors feature a very fast 5ms response rate or refresh rate (the lower the response time, the better the viewing experience). The Atlas 710 features a large, 15.6" x 16.4" (39.6cm wide x 41.7cm deep), smooth non-glare platform, which permits reading heavy books. The viewing area of this platform permits reading a full sheet of paper without repositioning. In addition, a large, easy-to-operate lever allows the reader to partially or totally lock the position of the reading table. This feature makes it easier to read horizontal lines and to write. The table also features adjustable drag and margin stops.
